The enclosed pictures show an under construction palatial bungalow of a tall Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of erstwhile state of J&K Dr Nirmal Singh. The construction is almost complete and interior works are remaining. Grave injustice was done to the son of soil by Indian Army which pressed into service certain norms/guidelines prohibiting construction near army installations. Matter has been taken by Indian Army to the J&K high Court Jammu highlighting that the construction is illegal and against the guidelines of ministry of defence.

Reportedly Dr Nirmal Singh has immovable properties at Basohli, Batote and a palatial under construction bungalow at village Panj Garain (Nagrota) Jammu across the banks of a nallah facing National Highway. Dr Nirmal Singh has also a residential accommodation at new campus Jammu (God knows still in possession or vacated). Pertinently he is occupying in front of State Guest House a ministerial banglow right now when after dissolution of the state assembly he ceases to be the Speaker or Deputy Chief Minister. Even then this son of the soil is not ready to vacate the same as he belongs to a party which is in power in New Delhi.

On one side the nation is being headed by a upright Prime Minister who has set an example to lead a simple life and on the other side the comrades of the party in power in J&K are busy constructing palatial houses and aam aadmi is being burdened with taxes, toll plazas and arbitrary SRO 202. The people of UT of J&K were expecting better deal and good governance under LG’s administration but everything is Khad-O-Khad and the ex legislators and ex Deputy CMs are enjoying luxurious lives in ministerial banglows and A Type Kothis despite the dissolution of the state assembly.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Defence minister are requested to allow the former Deputy Chief Minister to complete the construction of the aforementioned palatial house so that the son of the soil can vacate official banglow and move to his dream house.
